Roma Martignone
-I am Roma Martignone, born in Ramos Mejía. Buenos Aires, Argentina. My family consists of my parents and my brother. My interest in the arts starts from a very young age with music, I always liked singing and acting. I spent hours singing with my comb on my imaginary stage (in the living room, in my room) and performed my humorous performances to my family, with a very outgoing personality I liked to talk with known and unknown people, it is no coincidence that besides arts I studied a Bachelor of Public Relations. I also played piano and sang during my time at school. Already in high school I defined my taste for acting and modeling.
When I finished school I started working as a graphic and advertising model, and I also was interested in studying acting, which was useful for me to develop more easily in publicity castings. In 2002 I participated in a contest called Super M 2002 and entered Ricardo Piñeiro’s agency where I carried out my first campaigns as a model and at the same time I prepared myself at university in the career that I already mentioned. My role models in the cinema are various; Norma Aleandro, Guillermo Francella, Ricardo Darin, and Antonio Gasalla. These actors participated in great novelas and very successful films at that time of my childhood, adolescence and I admired them very much.In 2002 I participated in a contest called Super M 2002 and entered Ricardo Piñeiro’s agency where I carried out my first campaigns as a model and at the same time I prepared myself at university in the career that I already mentioned. My role models in the cinema are various; Norma Aleandro, Guillermo Francella, Ricardo Darin, and Antonio Gasalla. -Currently with the pandemic everything is stopped, productions, recordings, theaters closed. Many actors stream on social media. Actors and theater teachers give theater workshops and courses via zoom. Art in Argentina is very sad with all this situation, it is difficult to adapt because the actor needs contact with the public and / or with the camera.
I particularly took advantage of this moment to reach more people through social networks, turning my tastes and preferences into modes of action, identifying with people and their feelings of being locked up for so long.
-Once they offer me a work, I analyze if it is of my interest, what is the role, the character, what learning could it leave me and what would be my challenge. There is not a past work that considers my greatest artistic achievement from the smallest to the greatest that I have done has been an achievement. Advertising campaigns, short films, participation in TV, music videos, commercials are very enriching experiences for this path that I am traveling.
-At this time I participate in self-casting at home. I find it very funny because I film myself, I already know the acting I have to do, I can correct myself, I edit the video. It’s a completely different way, but it has that attractive, mostly competitive twist.
Many times when you go to a casting you don’t know what to do, you show up on set, they tell you on the spot and you have to put all the improvisation on stage. They are two completely different ways, but I like both.
-A great artistic achievement is to be part of the Argentine Association of Actors because I feel it as a recognition by people who feel the same as me.
-My best advice for female beauty is skincare, remove makeup, clean your face. Get a deep skin cleanse from time to time. Use good creams and / or home treatments, little makeup, use sunscreen, drink plenty of water, exercise and eat well. The most important thing is self-love.
-For newcomers: I advise those who are just starting to study and prepare, do workshops and courses, learn, work on their social networks, build a CV, look for themselves and make a path without looking at the next door because everyone we have a potential that identifies us.
-In these moments I have already started with photographic productions for my blog. Next year I am in a project of short films not yet defined, and continue with the advertising world where I always do casting and calls.
